From 15 years on steroid creams to 8 years eczema-free
I got my first steroid cream at 20. For fifteen years I kept using them, thinking that was healing. It wasn't — it was holding the problem in place. When the flares had taken over my whole life, I stopped, and went into six months of severe topical steroid withdrawal. These are photos of my own face: deep in TSW in 2018, calm and clear by 2022.
No prescription creams. No flare-up cycle. A relationship with my body that finally feels like trust, not war.
